About Scuba Blue
Diving Training Centre
Scuba Blue is a new Scuba Diving training centre and store situated in the South West of England. What makes us different is that we have a really strong emphasis on tailoring training to fit your needs. Whether you are just thinking about training as a new scuba diver or want to take your training to the next level we will work with you to make sure that you get exactly the training you need, delivered in the way you want it.
We also help you when you are ready to begin buying your own kit. We recognise that many people want to buy things online but the bewildering range of models and brands make this difficult for the newer diver. We can offer you a full advisory service so that when you make your purchases they are going to be right for you. Just give us a call and we will work with you to set up the support you want and need.
Look out for our trips, both in the UK and abroad. Just come in, maybe get an air fill while you wait and talk to us about your next steps in diving.
Here at Scuba Blue our main aim is to train people to dive and to keep them diving. Once you have finished whichever course you have chosen we will support you to keep diving.
Our commitment to you
James "Midge" Midgley
Midge is the owner of Scuba Blue,a PADI MSDT but first and foremost is a very keen and enthusiastic diver. He loves diving in the UK and has also travelled all over the world diving but his biggest passion is training others to be able to enjoy the underwater world. Midge has been working in the dive industry for some time and is now the very proud owner of Scuba Blue
Brian has been diving for many years both in the UK and abroad. He is an experienced PADI Staff Instructor who gets great satisfaction in seeing others get the chance to explore the underwater world and love it as much as he does. You might just want to dive on holiday but Brian will do his best to persuade you to dive in the UK too as he rightly thinks it has some of the finest diving in the world.
Andy has many years of diving experience…including as a submariner! He is also one of the team who began their training early in the life of Scuba Blue. He soon completed his Divemaster course with us and then went straight on to become the first “homegrown” Instructor in the team.. He is another passionate diver who loves being underwater and loves helping others to share that passion.
Andy loves a range of outdoor, adventure activities but luckily this includes scuba diving! He has been diving for over 20 years in various places around the world. Apart from his fascination with new dive gear he enjoys inspiring and encouraging people to dive and loves seeing them progress – you can always ask Andy for help.
Yet another divemaster who just loves to go diving. Carla is also the best organised of all of us so Open Water training days go like clockwork when she is in charge! Carla is also great with students and calmly sorts out anything they might need help with.
Jonathan started his training with us in the early days of Scuba Blue. He can be found helping students in the pool and in open water and is a regular diver with the Scuba Blue Club, usually accompanied by his wife, Claire, who makes sure he doesn’t get into too much trouble.
Vicky is absolutely passionate about her diving. Since first learning to dive she has packed in as much underwater time as possible both in the UK and abroad.
While loving to share a joke, Nelson is also quick to help out wherever needed. Students asking for assistance will always get a quick, calm and helpful response from Nelson.
Rebecca "Bex" Miller
“Lets Go Diving” is Bex’s catchphrase and we hear it all the time! She is an avid diver who has gained experience here in the UK, Europe and in Asia. Bex has a great sense of humour but is also calm, professional and very approachable. She is a fabulous divemaster.
Calm, helpful, cheerful and serene, no matter what is happening around her Emily can be relied on to support and advise the new (or experienced) diver….and over stressed instructor !
